Have you ever heard something about web cookie before? or have you ever come across like web cookie and didn’t know what is about? Well, what really is a web cookie? And that is the same as a web session cookie. This article will show you what web cookie do and what web cookies are used for and how web cookie looks like
A cookie or simply a browser’s cookie is a small piece of data that a website or a web server stores in a user’s web browser while the user is browsing that website.
The data that is stored is actually a little text file that contains both numbers and letters which form what we call the cookie. The main function a cookie does is to help the server of that particular website you visited to remember what you came looking for.
Every time the user loads the website, the browser sends the cookie back to the server to notify the website of the user’s previous activity.
Let’s look at the following illustrations for a better understanding
In fig1. I am trying to type this search term “how to put a pattern lock on your computer”, but because I have searched for this before, immediately I try to type that search term, my browser sends a cookie to the Google web server and tells it, this user is looking for this or that so take it and present it to him.
That is why it has a different text colour of blue.

In fig2. I also attempt to log in into Facebook by typing in my id, but like before, immediately I start to do that, my browser sends a cookie to the Facebook server and tells it, this user has typed this id before so save his time by telling him what he might want to type.
