step two

Tap on “change settings that are currently unavailable” link seen on top of the next window after “choose what the power buttons do” has been chosen. After tapping on “change settings that are currently unavailable”, scroll down the windows and look for “hibernation”. Mark or tick on “hibernation” located at the bottom of the widow and that ends the process to be involved in enabling hibernation on Windows 8/ 8.1 on your computer.

 

 

 

 

Close “control panel” windows and verify its appearance or configuration on “power option” by hitting on the “charm bar” and going to “settings” followed by tapping of “power” button or icon under settings and you could see the hibernation feature among the power option button.

 

 

 

Option 2

If the above steps don't work, you can use the command prompt to achieve this.

  1. First disable the hibernation internally by typing this in the command line powercfg -h off

2. Then type this powercfg -h on to enable it. That is all
